HELLO. WE ARE SEELOS BRAUHAUS.
Melding a love of beer making, comradery, & fraternity.
Story behind Seelos Brauhaus
Welcome to our homebrew club, where we are dedicated to the art of brewing and the values of fraternity as Catholic men and women.
We share a passion for making great premium beer and enjoy coming together to share our knowledge of homebrewing. Our focus is on learning and honing the craft of brewing through experimentation and collaboration, as well as enjoying the fruits of our labor.
Our Brauhaus Club is open to all who are interested in brewing, regardless of their level of experience. We meet regularly to share our latest creations, discuss brewing techniques, and plan future events and projects. We also organize outings to local breweries and beer festivals such as Oktoberfest. We also partner and collaborate with other Catholic organizations such as the Knights of Columbus and regional Men’s Club groups since many of our members are also affiliated with those organizations.
New entrants to the club officially start as “Novice Brewer” associates in our club. After experience is developed by participating in club activities and demonstrating advanced ability and knowledge, members will advance to higher “brewership” ranks. Those higher levels include Brewer First Class, Senior Brewer, Master Brewer, and ultimately Grand Master Brewer.
We are inspired by the life and example of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, a Redemptorist priest who immigrated from Bavaria, Germany to the United States in the 19th century until his death in New Orleans in 1867. Blessed Seelos was known for his tireless service to the poor and the sick, his devotion to the sacraments, and his deep faith and humility. Through his example, we also strive to place a great emphasis on the values of brotherhood, service and trust in Jesus.
In our brew club, we strive to embody the values and virtues of Blessed Seelos, particularly his dedication to serving others and his commitment to growing in his relationship with Jesus. We believe that through our love for brewing and our commitment to fraternity, we can follow in the footsteps of this holy man and become better versions of ourselves. We see this as an important way to put our faith into action and to make a positive impact on the world around us.
So if you are interested in brewing great beer, building lasting relationships, and growing in your faith as inspired by the example of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, we invite you to join us in our homebrew club.
May your glass be ever full. May the roof over your head be always strong. And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead.
