This is a small taste of how it should be and always was. Notice that it is a family event, and almost everyone is in traditional lederhosen and dirndl. Also, all of the alcoholic beverages are served and drank out of clay mugs. For us non-Germans, Oide Wiesn is Traditional-Oktoberfest within Munich’s Oktoberfest.

Fun Facts: Oide Wiesn is the “Old Oktoberfest” that celebrates the history and culture of The Oktoberfest. It has three tents that offer traditional and contemporary music, food, and drinks. It also has regular fair rides and attractions that will remind you of a small school fair. It is a family event that encourages traditional lederhosen and dirndl. It was founded in 2010 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first Oktoberfest. It is a separate festival area that has an entrance fee of four Euros (used to be 2). Therefore to experience the Oktoberfest in its most authentic and traditional way, it’s a must stop to Oide Wiesn when you’re in Munich for Oktoberfest.
And just one ☝️more fun fact, most Germans and people drink Augustiner Beir in Munich, outside of Munich or Bavaria it’s the Paulaner brand 🧐.
Prost! 🍻
P.S., If you never drank with a clay mug, we suggest you try it with as soon as possible with some good German beer (Bier) or better yet Wiesen!
